Job Summary:

Responsible for managing the marketing and general function of the company by developing marketing strategies for the company, promoting the company’s products, coordinating market research and studies, and development of market responsive product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Management:

T.1 Support the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan, business plans, and annual operating plans.

T.2 Develop sales and marketing strategies for the company including short- and long-term sales and marketing strategies.

T.3 Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote the company’s products.

T.4 The jobholder may continually work odd hours and in different environments when necessary to meet existing and new/prospective clients and suppliers.

Management of Sales and Marketing Processes

T.1 Ensure that the company achieves its sales and marketing targets and key performance outcomes as detailed in the sales and marketing plan.

T.2 Develop proposals to support new products by the company.

T.3 Build and maintain effective network of relationships with key clients and customer liaison program for the company.

T.4 Develop, build and maintain a customer database and ensure timely update of the same

T.5 Participate in development of pricing strategies, balancing the company’s objectives and customer satisfaction.

T.6 Monitor the competition and advise the management of appropriate action to stay ahead.

T.7 Ensure prudent management and use of resources allocated to the sales and marketing department.

T.8 Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate monthly Standard Operating Procedures for the sales & marketing department

T.9 Identify strengths and weaknesses in the sales and marketing team and give recommendations on training, and/or other actions, to management.

T.10 Direct, coach and mentor the sales team to achieve best results

T.11 Plan and run weekly sales and marketing meetings with the regional sales and marketing representatives

T.12 Develop and implement an online sales strategy

Market Trends and Developments

T.1 Undertake market intelligence and appraise management on issues that need their attention and advise on market share.

T.2 Carry out periodic marketing studies and research

including traveling locally and internationally

T.3 Monitor customer trends and habits and determine demand for products offered by the company and its competitors.

T.4 Synthesize lessons and experiences for continuous benchmarking and improvement of marketing strategies

Communication and Public Relations

T.1 Maintain good public relations and communication with the clients and the general public.

T.2 Participate in forums and activities that promote the company and its products.

T.3 Develop the Company brand to make it attractive and the most sought after and friendly company in the industry.

T.4 Ensure that the company maintains proactive, dynamic and effective communication with clients on marketing issues at all times, including following up on clients with declining sales.

T.5 Conceptualize, design, and coordinate promotional activities for the company.

T.1 Carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the Managing Director from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Level of Education:

A Diploma in Marketing.

Competencies/Abilities/Skills/ Qualities Required

• Strong sales, marketing and public relations skills

• Monitoring and evaluation, and analysis skills

• Basic knowledge of financial management including budgeting.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to build a strong working team

• Be self-motivated with pleasant personality

• Be diplomatic in approach

• Be tactful and convincing

• Able and willing to travel locally and abroad

• Be well grounded in faith

Job experience:

• At least 5 years in a supervisory/ managerial position
