Job purpose To assist Senior Management in making critical business decisions by analyzing and presenting key financial data.
In addition, oversee accounting procedures and prepare forecasts, budgets and risk analysis. .
Main duties
• Preparation of financial statements and interpretation of financial performance reports
• Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
• Prepare budgets and carry out cost accounting, manage payables, inventory management, investments analysis and financial modelling to achieve set performance targets.
• Ability to apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS)
• Analyze financial information to assess with business profitability and growth
• Manage capital expenditure
• Review reports and analyze projections of sales, expenses, profit and cash flow against actual figures
• Prepare monthly management reports for submission to management for review.
• Prepare monthly / quarterly operational reports for management on income and expenditure.
• Prepare annual operating budget and capital budget.
• Analyze investment opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and statutory obligations
• Ensure adherence to internal control systems and procedures to minimize loss of revenue.
• Facilitate external audits
• Accountability for cash flow and production of forecasts
• Production of relevant commercial analysis e.g. margins and pricing
Qualifications & Skills Required
• Full CIMA/ ACCA/CA
• Member of ZICA
• Have operating knowledge in PASTEL or similar Accounting packages.
• I.T proficient (Good knowledge of MS Office packages, databases and Microsoft Dynamics Environment) MS excel modelling.
• Minimum three (3) years experience of which at least two (2) years experience handling similar responsibilities/ position.
• Have strong budgeting and cost accounting background with practical experience in payables management, inventory management, investments analysis and financial modelling.
• Extensive knowledge on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS)
• Commercial awareness, with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organization works and manages resources.
• Ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
