We are therefore inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:
SALES MANAGER – TRADING AND EXPORT:
The successful candidates will report to the Commercial Manager – Retailing: .
Responsibilities:
• Provide input into the retailing strategy for exports and trading goods.
• Develop the export market for sales in the region.
• Grow the sales and profitability of the trading goods and export segments of retailing.
• Optimise the basket of traded goods in the outlets and export market offering.
• Identify opportunities to grow and expand the product offering in the retail outlets.
• Ensure optimal stock holding to avoid overstocking and prevent any stock outs.
• Negotiate with third party suppliers on products and prices to maximise returns for the business.
• Carry out outlet and region level sales forecasting and target setting and work with the National Retailing Manager in ensuring the outlets achieve the set targets.
• Provide information and input into the store layout and design to stimulate sales.
• Provide cover for
Regional Sales Managers and carry out periodic outlet audits involving a full outlet stock count, safe cash count and gross profit calculations.
• Provide insight into the pricing of all trading and export product lines to ensure achievement of set margins.
• Manage the promotions caledar for trading goods and laise with suppliers for promotional deals.
• Manage all export contracts and ensure compliance with all export requirements
• Gathering both local and export market intelligence for decision making.
• Manage export customer accounts.
• Manage the export value chain.
• Manage export and other regulatory stakeholders to ensure smooth trade.
• Manage the relevant overhead expenditure budgets.
• Monthly sales reporting on exports and traded goods.
This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following requirements: –
• Grade 12 certificate with credits or better in 5 subjects.
• University Degree in marketing or relevant commercial field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in export sales, retailing or business development.
• Knowledge and understanding of export markets.
• Good understanding of retail controls.
• Retailing experience is an added advantage.
