“Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.” – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Are you a poet, comic or a creative writer willing to inspire, promote and share a positive message of empowerment for women and girls in Kenya?

Would you like to join us in shaping the future of women and girls through creation of content for women’s empowerment?

We are looking for content creators who can creatively capture the essence and vibrant spirit of women and girls empowerment.

Our objective is to positively influence gender social norms and change stereotypes in Kenya through development of content for women and girls that is diverse, accessible and empowering.

Our hope is to use stories and storytelling as means to demonstrate the many identities and opportunities available to women and girls that extend beyond what has traditionally been offered to them.

Content Guidelines

The content should aim to inspire women, girls, men and boys via stories that have an inclusive narrative and promote equality between men and women.

This content should be focused on but not limited to the following:

  • Positively influence gender social norms and change stereotypes;
  • Encourage critical thinking around traditional gender roles;
  • Focus on gender equality and power dynamics between men and women;
  • Portray men and women in different roles from those traditionally assigned in a patriarchal society;
  • Lead to a critical reflection on masculinity and femininity;
  • Show support for gender equality by boys and men.
