World Wide Fund for Nature Fundraising, Partnership and Communications Manager Jobs Opportunities in Uganda


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the WWF-UCO Resource
    Mobilization Strategy to increase revenue generation and diversify sources of income
    through proactive engagement of international funding agencies and development
    partners, government and non-government funding agencies, foundations,international and local companies, private businesses, individuals and other innovative fundraising options
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the country communication
    strategy with the goal of increasing brand relevance and programme communications
    with the objective of creating opportunities for strategic partnership and resource
    mobilization.
  • Provide oversight of the fundraising and marketing function and strategic guidance to
    the communications, partnership and external relations functions in line with WWFUCO’s
    strategic plan.
  • Review, Develop and monitor the implementation of the Resource Mobilization
    Strategy to achieve sustainable income growth to meet WWF-UCO’s revenue targets
    in line with the strategic plan and WWF fundraising guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for strengthening and expansion of WWF-UCO’s
    strategic partnerships and strategic corporate engagements to leverage existing
    potential funding opportunities.
  • Periodically advise the senior management team and contribute to management
    decisions on all aspects of fundraising, partnerships and communications of WWFUCO.
  • Maintain a competent “fundraising, marketing, communications and partnerships
    team” through coaching and mentoring, mentoring, giving constructive feedback and
    holistic capacity development in line with the WWF Human Resources Management
    guidelines.

    Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Economics,
    Communications, Public Relations, Media Relations, or other related fields;
  • Proven track record, and at least 10 years of experience (preferably in Uganda, in
    communications or PR;
  • Understanding of the institutional and legal framework in Uganda , as it relates to
    fundraising, PR, media, communications issues;
  • Experience of creating and implementing a fundraising strategy for new markets
  • Experience of creating and implementing a fundraising strategy for new markets
    Proven track record of generating significant gifts, preferably in the context of an
    international organization
  • Experience and expertise in developing relationships with institutional donors,
    high net worth individuals or corporations.
  • A good understanding of the realities of PR and communications for promoting
    conservation issues,
  • An understanding of, and vocational interest in, environmental conservation,
    international development, not-for-profit sector and other related fields would be
    preferred;
  • Excellent English and with knowledge of other local languages an added asset

    World Wide Fund for Nature Partnership and External Relations Officer Opportunities in Uganda

    Job Purpose

    To ensure that WWF Uganda develops and maintains strong and
    effective partnerships towards the implementation of the WWF Uganda conservation
    strategy.

    Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a partnership strategy that supports the WWF Conservation Strategy and that ensures the very best of relationships with partners, donors and others
  • Ensures that all personnel understand the importance of Partnerships Strategy and
    how it relates to them, and that they are fully involved in its implementation
  • Ensures excellent relations with key government partners and put in place systems
    that maintain them
  • Ensures effective engagement of strategic partners especially society groups and
    traditional leadership
  • Develops strategic partnership building approaches with government, donors, civil
    society, corporate and WWF stakeholders
  • Supports, backstops, guides and trains WWF Uganda staff in partnership matters at all
    levels
  • Supports the Fundraising, Partnerships and Communications Manager in timely
    technical and Financial reporting to the donors
  • Facilitates the strategic engagement with relevant international and national
    stakeholders on conservation and related issues
  • Maintains a database of information relating to partners and donors, individual
    requirements and
    goals, and such other details as are relevant to the development
    and maintenance of those partnerships.

    Qualifications

  • A University degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Economics,
    Development Studies, or other related fields;
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in successfully managing inter-institutional
    relations, preferably in the development field
  • Understanding of the institutional and legal framework in Uganda , as it relates
    to Partnerships, fundraising and communications issues;
  • Experience of creating and implementing a partnerships strategy for new
    markets
  • Experience and expertise in developing relationships with institutional donors,
    high net worth individuals or corporations.
  • A good understanding of the realities of development issues, donor institutions
    and not for profit sector
  • Excellent English and with knowledge of other local languages an added asset

    World Wide Fund for Nature Water Governance Manager Opportunities in Uganda

    Job Purpose

    To ensure successful implementation and sustained growth of the Freshwater Program as per the WWF UCO Strategic Plan.

    Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in planning, management, and implementation of Water
    Governance activities under the WWF UCO Freshwater Program.
  • Undertake routine monitoring and evaluation of ongoing Water Governance activities to
    track progress, document lessons, and assess their impacts on livelihoods of target
    communities and delivery of overall UCO conservation goals.
  • Document case studies and share information on Water Governance best practices and
    lessons learned with local partners and the general public.
  • Support the Program Coordinator in planning, design, and implementation of targeted research studies to generate new information and innovative ideas to support adoption of IWRM best practices in Uganda.
  • Create strong alliances and networks with civil society, public, and private organizations for sustained dialogue and advocacy for improved water governance in Uganda.
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of capacity building activities on Water
    Governance issues targeting WWF UCO staff, partner CSOs, Water User
    Associations/Groups, and other partners.
  • Coordinate preparation of policy recommendations and position papers to strengthen the water governance framework in Uganda.

    Qualifications

  • Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Management, or
    Hydrology is a MUST.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in water resources management work.
  • Specific experience in Integrated/catchment-based water resources management in Uganda is desirable and would be a strong added advantage.
  • Good general knowledge and understanding of the Uganda water sector and existing
    water governance framework is desirable.
  • Experience in working with civil society organizations and the private sector is an added advantage.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and innovative problem-solving ability.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working
    relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-interest, multi-ethnic environment;
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task under limited supervision;
