World Vision Protection and Gender Specialist, Vacancies in South Sudan
Job DescriptionPurpose of Position:The Protection & Gender Specialist has a dual role of providing technical leadership and oversight to World Vision South Sudan’s Protection programming, encompassing Protection, Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response, as well as ensuring Protection and Gender Mainstreaming across all sectors and programming.
Key areas of focus for this role will include:
Grant acquisition and resource mobilization in the Protection Sector, with a specific focus on Child Protection and GBV sub-sectors.
Technical support to ensure Protection and Gender Mainstreaming in Program / Proposal Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquisition and Portfolio Management:
Design theory of change and write technical parts of proposals for new funding opportunities related to Protection (including CP and GBV) and Protection / Gender Mainstreaming.
Develop strong relationships with national level line ministries and other local authorities and stakeholders, facilitating regular communication on program implementation, progress and challenges.
Prepare MoUs with line ministries that position World Vision to win funding opportunities that are aligned with GOSS priorities.
Technical Support:
Develop the Protection technical approach for World Vision South Sudan to implement, inclusive of CP and GBV.
Ensure Protection considerations and Gender is mainstreamed into all World Vision South Sudan technical approaches.
Provide technical and strategic leadership in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the program in compliance with the donor ‘s requirements, WV and government policies and global standard.
Provide technical support during project implementation to ensure the projects meets or supersedes established standards.
Program Quality:
Support Quality Assurance Team in developing indicators, targets, measurement frameworks and monitoring plans.
Work closely with QA staff to provide technical input for ToRs for country-level and project assessments and evaluations.
Participate in the bid reviews for consultants and evaluations (QA is the lead on this).
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Master degree in Social Work, Human Rights or relevant field. Postgraduate qualifications in Project Planning and Management is highly desired.
Certificate courses in IASC Guidelines and key training packages preferred (Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Violence; mhGAP-HIG, Psychological First Aid in Emergencies, CPiE Minimum Standards and MRM, GBV IMS, International Humanitarian & Human Rights Law Foundations, etc).
Extensive experience, progressively responsible, working in childcare and gender development programming, preferably in fragile states.
Familiarity with key international standards for humanitarian work (e.g. CP Minimum Standards, SPHERE, HAP Principles, etc.)
Extensive experience in Protection and Gender foundations, theory, practical application of minimum standards, delivery of services to children in emergencies and survivors of GBV, particularly in conflict settings.
Experience in MHPSS considered a plus.
Proven track record of effective fundraising with major donors.

World Vision Program Officer, Vacancies in South Sudan
Key and Responsibilities:
Grants Acquisition:
Work with field-based staff to develop concept papers and prepare proposals (including logical frameworks, draft budgets, budget narratives, and monitoring and evaluation plans) for major government, private and multi-lateral donors.
Assist Senior Programme Officer and PDQA Director in identifying and defining funding sources from USAID, DFATD, DFAT, EU, UN and other public donors to support
existing and planned programming activities.
Take a leading role on key bid elements including program design, strategic partnerships, presentation of evidence and demonstrated track record to ensure quality applications are submitted.
Knowledge, skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from accredited university.
At least 3 years of previous experience in project design, proposal writing and donor relations for an INGO in a relief and / or development context. At least one year of field-based work in a similar, conflict-prone environment is required.
Experience developing high value programs and proposals in the following fields preferred: Health & Nutrition, Food Assistance, Economic Recovery & Livelihoods, Education, Children in Emergencies, WASH, and Protection.
Experience in working on resilience programming in fragile contexts preferred.
Experience negotiating with Government, Bi / Multi-lateral Agencies, private donors.
Understanding of UNICEF’s rules and regulations, proposal compilation, budgeting and reporting systems
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
Work Environment/Travel:
The position requires ability and willingness to travel.
Domestic Travel: 30% Regular internal travel to project areas is required.
International Travel: 15% international travel will be required.

World Vision Hospital Coordinator, Kuajok State Hospital, Vacancies in South Sudan
Job Description
Purpose of Positions:
The State Hospital Coordinator is responsible for the overall delivery of this project.
S/he is responsible for managing HPF activities, planning, implementation, monitoring, manage all security, logistics, and procurement issues, set up hospital governance board, reporting and coordination with Ministry of Health and other authorities, UN agencies, international and national NGO partners.
S/he reports to the HPF manager based in Kuajok for all operation and technical issues.
S/he works in collaboration with the programme officer and health and nutrition specialist who will provide the necessary supports for the successful implantation of HPF project at Kuajok state hospital.
She/ he takes a lead role in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in the wards/units in line with the ministry of health standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Administratively manage the HPF supported program activities at Kuajok State Hospital on behalf of World Vision South Sudan.
Work with the key hospital staff in the day to day planning and management of Kuajok State Hospital activities.
Maintain high cordial and professional working relationship with fellow hospital staff, state ministry of health and other actors in the state.
Advise and (administrative) support the senior nursing officer, the hospital director general and other senior staff in their day- to- day activities in order to achieve all the project deliverables.
Participate in the Senior Health Management Team (HMT) meetings at the hospital as and when necessary
Knowledge,skills & Abilities:
At least 7 years of work experience in a busy secondary or tertiary level hospital as hospital administrator or Principal nursing officer.
Bachelor Degree in nursing or Environmental health sciences or Health care management.
Master's degree in Business Administration, or Msc in Health Management or Master’s in Public Health will be an added advantage.
