World Vision International NGO Director of Global Compliance Jobs Openings in Uganda
In connection with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) group, this position provides leadership for a global compliance function including the creation and execution of a clear mandate. The Director will be expected to understand and evaluate WVI’s unique organizational environment, and apply a deep understanding of technical compliance principles to develop a new function that will deliver an effective organization-wide compliance program.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a global compliance mandate and function to outline and define compliance as a new function in WVI.
Build a network of partners and compliance champions throughout the organization to advance the key initiatives of the compliance function.
Build consensus amongst key stakeholders to effectively lead large-scale policy restructuring and related efforts.
Design and embed the structures and processes necessary to ensure compliance activities are occurring in offices and entities throughout the Partnership, enabling leadership to maintain accountability.
Develop and deliver regular reporting to senior leadership and/or the Board on the effectiveness of the compliance program, highlighting any significant gaps requiring intervention.
Act as a leader among external businesses and NGO community, ensuring that WV’s compliance function is seen as the benchmark for other organizations. Within the context of Compliance practitioners and networking groups, act as a leader in developing sharing innovative best practices in place in World Vision.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in finance, business, project management, security or related discipline.
10+ years of work experience leading a compliance programme or related function.
Membership and leadership in a global compliance institute/organization.
Well-developed leadership and communication skills.
Experience in developing and implementing strategies that produce results.
Knowledge and experience is setting strategic goals, measures of success and priorities.
Ability to align cross-functional strategic priorities.
Knowledge and experience in managing a compliance function.
Ability to effectively engage with executive level management in championing compliance and implementing it as relatively new discipline in the organization.
Experience in managing business units to achieve results.

World Vision International NGO Programme Manager Jobs Openings in Uganda
To provide leadership and management of WVU programmes (Area Development Programmes (ADPs) and grant projects) within a designated district/s in the development of programme and project designs and plans, capacity building and facilitate implementation of ADP and grant interventions in a manner that empower communities, children and local institutions in the ADP and Grant Project Area in line with WVU strategic direction, ministry integration and performance standards.
Responsibilities
Manage, supervise and build the capacity of programme staff (ADPs and grant projects) in quality programme development, management and implementation:
Coordinate, guide and facilitate operational planning and implementation of integrated development programmes and projects in the programme area:
Facilitate effective monitoring, evaluation, documentation and reporting in line with agreed organisational targets and standards:
Build, maintain and effectively manage strategic partnerships and collaborations at the programme level:
Guide and spearhead District level advocacy and justice for children in areas of children’s wellbeing, rights and protection.
Qualifications
Must have a university degree in development studies or related field.
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in community development.
Must have good analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Knowledge of financial and human resource management.
Must be able to
communicate in a cross-cultural environment.

World Vision International NGO Child Protection Facilitator Jobs Openings in Uganda
The Child Protection Facilitator will provide grassroots project implementation, monitoring and documentation in the Child Friendly Spaces, Early Childhood Development Centres and the participation, psychosocial and peace building Project guided by WV Uganda Policies. The incumbent will also be responsible for the smooth, cost effective, efficient and timely implementation of CFSs, ECDs and participation, psychosocial and peace building project budget review and monitoring.
Responsibilities
Motivate and ensure teamwork among Child Protection assistants and Volunteers for greater ministry impact, in the community
Work in liaison with and provide the necessary advice and support to stakeholders in the participation, psychosocial and peace building project, as well as the CFS and ECD programmes in all matters pertaining to effective management and implementation
Assist the Response Manager to handle visitors including donors, support offices and national office staff
Take full responsibility in the implementation of CFSs, ECDs and participation, psychosocial and peace building project in Adjumani operations according to the agreed plan of action
Actively coordinate project Design, implementation, monitoring and reporting
Coordinate with all agencies working in child protection and the Office of the Prime Minster in the camp to ensure compliance to inter agency and World Vision International standards for implementing child protection and Education in emergencies (CiE) as well as peace building activities
Organize meetings with key stakeholders in Adjumani to influence policies, planning and practice in line with the outcomes of the advocacy events
Implement and monitor project activities towards realization of project outputs in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications
The applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Peace-Building, Sociology, International Relations, Conflict studies or other related field.
A minimum of three or more years’ field experience working with Communities in Peace-Building and/or child protection programming and program management in an NGO context.
Past exposure and experience with integration / mainstreaming of peacebuilding and conflict-sensitivity across other programmes and projects is a plus.
Past experience in working with communities. Very strong communication skills
Working knowledge of humanitarian industry including sphere standards, NGO code of conduct and humanitarian charter
Excellent analytical, documentation, problem solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Possess the ability to work with different partners, local authorities, local organizations and NGOs, to develop and maintain positive relationships.
Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources
Ability to cope and deal with stress and work under stressful work conditions is a requirement
