Current or recent graduate from an undergraduate programme

Internship Location: Remote within the Southern Africa Region (see eligible countries above).
Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Communications, Social media management, Graphic Design, or related fields.
Internship Description
Are you a wizard with words or graphics? Can you craft messages that connect emotionally, tell a story, and yet can speak to impact and statistics? Can you create visually interesting reports and graphics or develop short compelling videos? Are you someone who can navigate different channels and demonstrate knowledge of how best to communicate on them? If this sounds like you, you could be a great fit for our Communications Intern.
The Intern will play a vital role in supporting the World Vision Southern Africa’s Communications and Advocacy Team dedicated to fostering a technical excellence culture that is aligned to the changing internal and external landscape. The team is seeking a dynamic, self-starter individual with a strong interest in humanitarian and development sector seeking an exciting opportunity to expand their current scope of work. If you are the one, you
must have an excellent written communication skill, proficiency in social media platform.
As an intern, you will join our team, and the larger Southern Africa team, to bring creative and fresh ideas to our current work. You will join an exciting team of communicators contribute to the development of a strong communications foundation by sharing ideas for creative content and developing materials to communicate about our work in Southern Africa.
The intern’s responsibilities will include:
Copywriting and content editing to develop creative content, documentation of projects in World Vision.
Design and development of graphics, visually compelling reports, and short videos to be featured on various channels.
Research on relevant topics to collect key reports and materials, and organize and share them on staff platforms for capacity building.
Social media strategy and posts – written, graphics, and videos.

You are experienced with graphic design and social media management.
You are experienced with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred
Excellent computer skills, including experience of Using Adobe Creative Cloud
A strong writer, able to develop clear messages for different audiences and content formats including on sensitive topics
Ability to turn complex and technical information into digestible creative content suitable for the general public
Very organised with good attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong editorial skills, with experience of editing content for digital publication and distribution
