World Vision Ethiopia - Social Innovation Challenge Project Manager - Jobs in Ethiopia


Job Purpose

To co-lead the Social Innovation Challenge (SIC) project for World Vision Ethiopia.

Social innovation is the process of developing and deploying effective solutions to challenging and often systemic social and environmental issues in support of social progress.

The objective of the Social Innovation Challenge project is to design, test and prototype a new business processes for an innovative holistic engagement platform for supporters and communities where local problems can be tackled by collaborating globally.

The Project Manager will be responsible for specific inputs and deliverables as outlined below.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
  • Identify, socialize and co-lead a cross-functional team to implement the Social Innovation Challenge
  • Ensure the delivery of all project milestones and outcomes as it pertains to the Logic Model
  • Partner Engagement, Industry Liaison & Funding
  • Identify, seek and build strong partnerships across different sectors (including but not limited to governments, businesses, other NGOs, and donors that contribute to acquisition of new innovative business opportunities for the Social Innovation Challenge. Agree to travel across regions for meetings whenever necessary.
  • Source out the resources needed for SIC both technical and financial from identified strategic partners.
  • Negotiate skillfully with partners/supporters to ensure agreements are realistic and achievable and in line with World Vision strategies.
    Promote a sense of mutual understanding, shared values and approaches, and shared goals between the partners/supporters and World Vision.
  • Crowdsourcing of solutions
  • Engage strategic networks of innovators to join the competition
  • Participate in the screening and shortlisting of entries
  • Organizing Social Innovation Challenge Events
  • Support the planning and implementation of Social Innovation Boot Camp, Community Experience and Social Innovation Night

    Qualifications:

    Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

    Qualification required:

  • BA/BSc Degree in Marketing, Economics and/or Development Studies

    Experience:

  • 2 years in supervisory level
    Preferred: MA in /MSc in Marketing. or Economics and related field
