Job DescriptionAs an International Christian Humanitarian Development organization, World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is trusted to deliver integrated programs with target communities through its 58 Area programs (APs) located in seven regional states of the country.

Purpose of the position: To provide an overall leadership, supervision and quality assurance for seed potato production, multiplication and supply system through public-private partnership to improve the livelihoods for most vulnerable HHs in project areas.
Ensure the project’s alignment with WV policies, country and KOICA rules & regulations. Coordinate and support the project team technically to ensure impact of the project on food and nutrition security of the target communities.
Major Responsibilities:
Oversee, and ensure the execution of the project plan within the budget limit and high adherence to WVE partnership strategy and policies, KOICA and WVK guidelines and government rules and regulations
Work closely in collaboration with project team and stakeholders to bring about the intended outputs and outcomes of the project; work closely with IFaNS team in assessing and identifying appropriate technologies and engage in promoting and dissemination of the findings that will contribute to food and nutrition security enhancement
Provide technical support to project facilitators to increase their capacity and commitment to fully and adequately invest they skill so that the target communities benefit from the project and maintain the outcomes
Compile and submit consolidated financial and narrative reports of the project to standard quality, monthly, quarterly, biannually and annually and submit to IFaNS department and confirm KOICA, and WVK get the report timely as per the agreement; ensure best practices and lessons learned are document
Facilitate donors’ (KOICA and WVK) technical engagement in the project and monitoring visits and produce summary
field report on the same
Oversee and ensure the development and execution of result oriented participatory M & E and knowledge management to enhance accountability and impact demonstration
Ensure implementation of natural farming techniques and composting in potato production to reduce cost of production and the negative impacts of chemical fertilizer on the natural resource base and potato products; linking seed potato producer associations to MFIs, creating market access for potato seed and proper utilization
Networking with relevant local government offices, Agriculture and natural resource, cooperative promotion, ARARI, WVK, KOICA, and Regional Quarantine and Seed Quality control Authority
Job Requirements
Other Competencies/Attributes: ·
Strong facilitation, negotiation and communication skills for partner and donor engagement is required
Computer literate (Operate Ms word and Excel and Lotus note)

Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Qualification required: MSc Degree in Agriculture, agricultural economics, Development studies or other related fields
Technical Training qualifications required: Program management skill, Participatory M&E, Results-Based management, Logical Framework Analysis, community participation, Farmers’ Field Schools (FFS), Participatory Rural Appraisal, Participatory Learning & Action, partnering
Practical experience in technology promotion and adoption
Experience in identifying training needs and organize capacity building training
4 years of NGO experience
Experience in Bi-latteral/INGO funded projects is an advantage
Experience in organizing and running Farmers Field Schools (FFS) Working
Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: 50% of field trip and 50% office
Travel: Frequent domestic travel within the project areas is required.
On call 20%
