Job Description

Purpose of the position:

Deliver full range transport services, i.e. driving the crane mounted truck, observe prescribed work and safety rules, perform mechanical repairs, maintain log books and fuel consumption records on a regular basis.

Major Responsibilities

Deliver full range transport service including driving the crane mounted truck for organizational use to ensure safe, reliable fleet to help in work on customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Operating the crane system for drilling works, pump installation, and every necessary loading and unloading materials on itself and for other trucks, obey prescribed work, safety rules and respond to service calls.

Follow-up and perform mechanical and hydraulic repairs / service. Service vehicles according to established preventive maintenance schedule. Rotate and change tires; change oil and filters; grease vehicle parts; inspect and replace bulbs, and top up all fluid levels
Maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance in adherence to Fleet Management policy

Inspect vehicles regularly, evaluate condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and light and reports any mechanical problems of vehicle to supervisor for repair /parts replacement and keep vehicle accessories counted, logo intact, functional safety tools kits and equipment.

Make necessary preventive and corrective maintenances for heavy and light duty vehicles and make work area clean, fuel vehicle and keep in a good condition at all times

Maintain log books

and fuel consumption records on a regular basis, take cautious measures on keeping original keys, tools, reserve tires/rims and communicate officially when needed. Consistently monitor vehicle performance, submit maintenance request or advice timely and follow-up accomplishments.

Prepare monthly vehicle usage report and submit timely and provide administrative support to the unit and other divisions/departments as per required.


Job Requirements

Education: Minimum of 12th or 10+3 TVET Diploma, and related like in Auto electricity, Auto mechanics, General mechanics, woodwork, metal work.

Training and experience requirements: Training and experiences in crane operation, vehicles service and maintenance.

Other Requirement:

Minimum 4th grade driving license

Working on a heavy truck particularly a crane is advantageous,

Ability in written and spoken English, and able to understand crane operation manuals.

Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: Frequent travel to the field for drilling.

Travel: 100% Domestic.
