Job Description

Purpose of The Job

To closely supervise drilling operations, pumping test and pump and generator/transformer installation with groundwater development studies.

Major duties and Responsibilities

Supervise drilling operations, water quality test, pumping test and pump installation with groundwater development studies;

Conduct field monitoring and provide onsite technical assistance to the drilling crews, advice chief driller in the process of drilling;

Review ground water development project documents and inspect water well drilling sites before commencing the operation;

Engage in groundwater resource assessments and detail investigation in partnership with ADPs’ engineers and government staffs;

Develop and maintain hydro geological and litho logical records with elector mechanical equipment descriptions of the completed water wells together with the GPS well locations;

Prepare well log and casing arrangements and well completion reports;

Analyze pumping test data and recommend the appropriate electromechanical equipment;

Prepare monthly biannual and annual progress reports of the drilling operation;


Job Requirements


The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job

training:

Educational level required:

B.Sc. in geology or M.Sc. in hydrogeology

Technical Training qualifications required:

Professional technical skill desired (drilling operation)

Experience:

For B.Sc 6 years of experience in supervision of drilling operations.

Preferred:

M.Sc Hydrogeology and 4 years of experience in supervision of drilling operations.

Other team management exposure and computer knowledge (Word and, Excel).

Other:

NGO experience is preferred

Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

Travel: 80% Domestic/international travel is required.

On call: 20%
