Description of Duties The incumbent performs the following duties:
Manages the Front Office in professional manner so as to give good image to the WHO Country Support Unit and the World Health Organization in general.
Places, receives, screens and directs telephone calls/ requests as appropriate and records messages as necessary.
Manages the Conference Room by maintaining booking schedule of meetings including ensuring that the equipment in the Conference Room is in serviceable condition as all times.
Receives and directs visitors as appropriate maintains register of all visitors.
Required Qualifications
Education
Essential: Completion of secondary school education or equivalent technical or commercial education.
Desirable: Training in finance, audit, compliance, procurement, secretarial tasks and/or in an administrative field is desirable.
Experience
Essential: At least two (2) years of relevant working experience as a Receptionist
Desirable: UN experience would be an advantage
Skills
Knowledge of switchboard and registry maintenance;
Ability to read, write and understand instructions in the working language;
Basic word processing or other software packages and standard office equipment.

World Health Organization HR Officer, Staff Development and Learning (SDL) Jobs in South Africa
Description of Duties
· Provides secretariat support to the AFRO Learning Committee and, based on committee recommendations, develops and implements the overall strategy for staff development and learning in the African Region.
· Guides the AFRO Learning Focal Point (LFP) network to identify and collate staff development and learning needs across the region, and supports the LFP network, through training of trainers, to facilitate the delivery essential learning activities in Regional Office Clusters and Country Offices.
· Conducts Learning Needs Analysis across the region
· Liaises with the WHO Career Development and Learning team and supports the implementation of required global learning initiatives.
· Administers the WHO Learning Management System for the Region including learning management, elearning development and publication, targeting of learning and reporting.
· Monitors, evaluates and reports on implemented SDL activities.
· Supports the development of learning programs using Articulate Story line.
Required Qualification
Education
Essential: First university degree in human resources management, public or business administration, psychology, organisational development, social science or related field.
Desirable: Masters level qualification in a related area
Experience
Essential: Five years of experience in planning, developing, organising, conducting and evaluating staff development activities, in an international setting and/or multicultural environment.
Desirable: Experience in the implementation and management of a Learning Management System.
Experience designing and developing learning
Skills
Ability to conceptualise and develop Staff Development and Learning strategies.
Excellent knowledge of instructional design and facilitation techniques.
Ability to provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on the Performance Management and Development process.
Computer literacy.
Experience using Articulate Story line, Web Ex and Cornerstone (or other Learning Management System software) desirable.

· Contributes to the monthly SDL newsletter
· Provides adhoc ilearn support to staff
· Initiates SDL related memos in DocuShare
· Briefs staff of the use of ePMDS on an adhoc basis
· Reports on ePMDS completion at Begin Year, Mid Year and Year End periods of the cycle by Country Office and Regional Office Technical Cluster.
· Provides ePMDS information to all new staff at the beginning of the probation period by email.
Required Qualifications
Education
Essential: Completion of secondary school.
Desirable: Specific education in Human Resources and / or Learning and Development
Experience
Essential: Five (5) years of experience in Human Resources in a learning and development role or event coordination role with knowledge of general administrative and HR Policy theory and procedures.
Desirable: Experience administering Learning Management Systems
Skills
Learning Event Coordination or Event Management, Learning Management System Administration, knowledge of HR principles, specifically in Learning and Development and general Computer literacy.
Experience in use of Web Ex is an advantage.

World Health Organization Senior Assistant Income & Awards Processing Jobs in South Africa
Description of Duties
· Review and process various requests submitted by budget centers over the awards life cycle including Donor Proposal/Agreement Clearance, Award Activation (AAR), Award Distribution (ADR), Workplan funding, Award Amendment (AMR), Expenditure Batches (EB), Certified Financial Statements (CFS), Management Financial Reports (MFR). Ensure full compliance of transactions from the Budget Centers (BCs) to the WHO rules and regulations, policies and procedures; ensure proper control of supporting documentation and adequate documenting/recording of controls performed.
· Perform monthly analysis to identify potential Oracle Labor Distribution Issues (OLD) and coordinate the necessary actions with concerned budget centers to resolve these issues and avoid OLD. Follow up closely to ensure that actions are taken by BCs in a timely manner.
· Assist in the resolution of the OLD issues. Follow up closely to ensure that actions are taken by BCs in a timely manner.
· Prepare and send periodic reports to budget centers (Awards Receivables, Awards Expired/Expiring, Funds Not yet Available, Encumbrances, In Kind/In Service Awards, Carry Forwards, etc.). Follow up closely to ensure that required actions are taken by BCs in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
Education
Essential: Completion of secondary education, combined with a diploma or equivalent technical training or commercial education with specialization in accounting, budgeting or finance.
Desirable: University degree in accounting or finance will be an advantage.
Experience
Essential: A minimum of ten years of working experience with 5 to 7 years of responsible work in finance, Budgeting and/or accounting activities.
Desirable: Experience with the United Nations System or other international organizations.
Skills
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and implement inputs from several sources; to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
To conceptualize and carry out tasks with little supervision;
