World Agroforestry Centre Linux System Administrator Jobs in Kenya

CIFOR-ICRAF is looking for a:Spatial Data Science & Applied Learning Lab (SPACIAL), CIFOR-ICRAF, would like to hire a dedicated Linux System Administrator to manage ICT infrastructure (Linux servers, Hosted services, CICD pipelines).
Following is a summary of responsibilities.

Summary of responsibilities

1. Linux installations (server), upgrades, 2. configuration, and management

2. Patch critical vulnerabilities

3.Server User management

4.]Assist/collaborate in trouble shooting OS level software issues

5. Assist in trouble shooting hardware

6.Install, configure and manage Server management software like Prometheus and Grafana.

7.Take periodic application-level backups like databases (mysql, postgres) and data folders.

8.Assist in CI/CD

9.Collaborate with ICT for network infrastructure

Requirements

BSc or MSc in computer science

2 to 4 years of experience managing Linux systems preferability as a Linux System administrator

Excellent knowledge of virtualization including Dockerization

Good knowledge of databases to backup and recovery planning.

Ability to work in a team.

Terms and conditions

This is a Locally Recruited position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency commensurate with skills and experience.
The duty station will be in Nairobi, Kenya CIFOR-ICRAF Offices.
