Woodcreek School Early Years Intern Jobs in Kenya; Work with lead teachers in/ outside class rooms to reinforce learning, manage learners and provide
specialized care as well as individual attention to students. Ride with the school bus/ van and assist
the driver in managing learners during transport. Promote the core values of the school and to
support the Christian values which it espouses.

4. Support and motivate students, teachers and other School employees
5. Contribute to the development of a caring community within the school by encouraging
commitment, courtesy, co-operation, tolerance and compassion towards one another
6. Promote the vision, mission, philosophy and core values of the school by incorporating the same
in lesson objectives.
7. Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues and parents
Specific Responsibilities a. Teaching and Learning 1. Assist lead teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up
equipment.
2. Teach or assist the lead teacher in teaching and delivering learning.
3. Work with the lead teacher to plan, coordinate work and monitor the class schedule.
4. Revise lesson material with students individually or in small groups.
5. Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean.
6. Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch,
and on field excursions.
7. Collaborate with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend
solutions.
8. Supervises free play and outdoor play and also supervises the children during field trips.
9. Supervises and assists children with meals. Ensures that children on a restricted diet are
given the proper food.
10. Supervises and assist children with accessing washrooms.
11. Reports ill health and injuries of any child to the school nurse, give first aid to any child who
has been injured. Refer major illness or injury to the school nurse and also record the same
on the incident folder.
12. Refer parents to the class teacher or head of department. Only engage parents on their child
discussion in the absence of or with the permission of the class teacher or HOD.
13. Assists the lead teacher in safeguarding all classroom supplies and equipment.
14. Teamwork with the lead teachers in creating lesson plans and or schemes of work.
15. Comply with school policies as well as class room rules and regulations.
16. Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and staff meetings as may be scheduled from
time to time.
17. Takes over the class while the lead teacher
is away.
18. Helps with class control while the lead teacher is teaching.
19. Helps in preparing the children for upcoming school events
20. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
21. Teamwork with the lead teacher in setting assessment tests, marking, grading and
evaluating learners learning progress or general performance, and also assist in addressing
learner’s learning gaps by teaching.
22. Organize the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive
learning environment.
23. Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues and parents
24. Provide opportunities for both collaborative and independent learning
25. Deliver home learning tasks to children in accordance with the agreed policy and guidelines
26. Be responsible for the safety and well-being of all students
b. Bus Attendance 1. Rides the bus on a rotating basis in the morning and afternoon, as assigned, to assist the
bus drivers.
2. Ensures that the students are comfortable on school transport.
3. Follow safety rules as students are boarding and exiting buses, and as they cross streets
near bus stops.
4. Pick and drop students at designated locations following strict time schedules and assist
students to cross the streets/ roads.
5. Manage students’ behavior inside the bus during transport and report any concerns
regarding students to the Administrator.
6. Know the school bus evacuation procedures and be physically capable to evacuate students
in an emergency.
7. Learn the bus route and provide route information that includes driver directions for the best
way to reach a location, for a substitute or newly assigned bus driver.
8. Occupy a seat that provides the best opportunity for student supervision while the bus is in
motion.
9. Perform any other duties related to the position of assistant teacher as may be assigned to
you from time to time.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required: 1. Recent graduate of Bachelor in Early Childhood Education. Years of graduation should be
2023 to 2024.
2. TSC Registered Teacher.
3. Maximum of one-year work experience in a school set up.
4. Availability to start immediately should the candidate be successful for this position.
