For example, if you made a mistake and use the Ctrl+Z shortcut to undo that mistake, but realize it was something you wanted to do, you can press Ctrl+Y.

If the Ctrl+Z key has not been used, the Ctrl+Y shortcut does not work.

On Apple computers, the shortcut to redo is the Command key+Y keys.
How to use the Ctrl+Y shortcut key
To use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Y, press and hold either Ctrl key on the keyboard and while continuing to hold, press the "Y" key with either hand.
