West Nile Regional Civil Society Network Programme Officer — CSO Compliance Jobs in Uganda
Job Summary:
Coordinate and undertake capacity development of CSOs in the West Nile subregion onCSO legal and regulatory compliance.
Specific Job Tasks:
Core tasks Conduct assessment of CSOs to ascertain their level of compliance with the regulatoryframeworks and design appropriate capacity development activities to addressexisting gaps.
Organise and or conduct capacity development and dialogue sessions for CSOs andregulatory authorities on CSO compliance topics.
Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and legal aid entitiesto support CSO compliance processes
Provide advice and information to CSOs on compliance topics.
Monitor, document, and communicate legal and regulatory changes concerning CSOsto WECISNET and CSOs.
Other tasks
Participate in marketing the CSO Hub services to CSOs and stakeholders.
Contribute to planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the CSO Hub andother projects and processes of WECISNET.
Contribute to WECISNET’s resource mobilisation efforts, including making the CSOHub financially sustainable.
Actively participate in and represent WECISNET in relevant forums.
Carry out administrative tasks necessary to fulfill the stated roles, including organisingmeetings and workshops.
Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor and are relevant to the position.
Qualifications, experience, and competence
The ideal applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in law.
A bachelor’s degree in socialsciences, humanities, or a
business discipline with relevant experience (as requiredbelow) may be considered.
Experience and competence:
At least two years of employment and or consulting experience with Ugandan CSOs.
Proven experience in at least one field of: capacity development, research, litigation,or advocacy on CSO legal and regulatory framework.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Uganda’s CSO/ NGO legal and regulatoryframeworks, including registration, operations, reporting, labour, and taxation matters.
Ability to speak and write effectively in English.
Professional experience in results-oriented and inclusive project planning, monitoring ,evaluation, and reporting.
