Watoto Church Ministries and Community Care Nutritionist Jobs in Uganda

Watoto Church and Child Care Ministries has experienced exponential growth in the past
couple of years composed of multiple Celebration Centers (Campuses) and diverse Community care initiatives that include; Child Care, Community and Neighborhood, Education and FM Radio amongst others. In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.

Watoto is seeking to recruit a Nutritionist to deliver high-quality and efficient nutrition services to meet the health needs of the Watoto patients, their families, and surrounding communities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)

Nutritional Services to Watoto Mothers, Children and Surrounding Communities

Conduct nutritional assessments and surveys for Watoto clients.

Review nutritional status of all children and chronically ill patients and make appropriate recommendations and nutritional counselling.

Monitor malnourished clients on nutritional therapy and develop patients’ meal plans.

Spearhead clients’ nutrition education and participate in community nutrition sensitization.

Coordinate evaluation for food supplies and food testing for Watoto Homes in accordance with required standards

Provide nutritional technical support to other departments involved in food production, handling and processing.

Develop policies and guidelines related to Nutritional Health of Watoto mothers and

children.

Participate in resource mobilization for partnerships and collaboration to widen the scope of nutritional services.

Risk Management

Support in teaching and training staff in other departments on nutritional aspects.

Coordinate and participate in food preparation demonstration activities for mothers

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition or dietetics and any other relevant discipline.

At least a minimum of two years’ working experience in clinical and community nutrition in a reputable organization.

Training in eMTCT, IYCF, IMAM is an added advantage.

Should be registered by Allied Health Professional council.
