Role PurposeLead role in creating and implementing strategies to manage, position and promote products, focusing on pricing, conceptualising, developing, implementing and managing product solutions and solutions capability for specific African markets.
Requirements
Extensive experience in product management, product development and/or product pricing
Experience across more than one line of business
8 - 10 years’ experience in relevant insurance industry
5 - 7 years’ experience in senior leadership positions
Exposure to product development and client engagement
Duties & Responsibilities
Understand the needs and strategies of the Africa business
Design, develop and implement new product solutions that are aligned with the needs of customers in the targeted customer segment
Co-create the appropriate product designs with the Country ExCo’s, Centre and CoE’s
Development and implementation of new products and benefits
Enhancements/changes to existing products and benefits
Formulate, or provide inputs to the formulation of, a customer-centric migration strategy on existing products when they are migrated to other legacy or new systems or platforms
Consult on the formulation of suitable actuarial basis items (e.g. mortality, disability decrements, lapses, etc.)
Oversee or control implementation of new initiatives from conceptualisation through to delivery, which will involve:
Ensure setting up of all administration processes, IT
systems, legal, compliance and other required processes to deliver the product to market
Checking of marketing and training material and giving inputs into rolling out of the product to the sales force
Liaise closely with and provide input to the underwriting, claims and other peripheral departments
Be accountable for the product management (i.e. multi-faceted functioning of the product to meet priced objectives and customer outcomes) by adequately balancing the objectives of the different stakeholders
Profitability management of existing products as well as new products
Consolidation of existing products where appropriate
