Purpose:

  • To Oversee the Technical Operations of Uganda

    Responsibilities:

    1. Team Leadership & People Management Business/Financial Management

    2. Customer Management, Sales & Services

    3. Risk Management & Control

    4. Problem Solving

    5. Change & Stakeholder Management

    6. Network Design, Management & Implementation Technical Strategy


    Key Skills, Knowledge & Technical Abilities

    1. 5 years working experience in the Internet Service Provider industry or equivalent Effective communication, reporting, documentation and presentation skills

    2. Routing protocols design and implementation (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP)

    3. Switching design and implementation (VLANs, VTP, STP, MPLS)

    4. VPNs (GRE, IPSEC, MPLS) design and implementation

    5. Network Security (SSH, Telnet, Firewalls, ACLS, SSL)

    6. QoS techniques

    7. PBX & VOIP (G.729, G.711,SIP)

    8. Domain, Email and Web Hosting services (DNS,POP, IMAP, SMTP)

    9. Network Technologies (WiFi, WiMax, VSAT, iDirect, VoIP, fiber) Network Monitoring, troubleshooting & Analysis Tools:

    10. Power Management

    11. Budgeting

    12. Conversant with Operating Systems, i.e. Linux / Microsoft OS.

    13. Advanced Core network design and optimization

    14. Systems Experience - Email, DNS, DHCP

    15. Transmission Experience - OTN, DWDM & SDH vendors like ECI / Tejas

    16. Minimum 5 years Fiber Optic Experience (Overhead / Underground)

    • Metro Fiber

    • FTTH / FTTB

    • Long Haul Fiber

    • GPON

    • Network Construction Management including budgeting (FTTX)

    Education & Certificate / Specialization

    1. Bachelor degree in Telecommunications / Engineering

    2. CCNP Service Provider Operations /JNCIP-SP / JNCIS-SP is an added advantage CompTIA: Linux+, A+

    3. Fiber Optic Training such as CFOT / CFOSD
