Duties

  • Design and produce an informative newsletter that serves the mission community on a Twice-a-month basis. 100%

  • Solicit articles for newsletter from mission and local programs, individuals, and other sources; write articles as appropriate.

  • Edit and proofread all text submitted for publication.

  • Send electronic copies to all mission personnel and other outside mission on distribution list.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of office or managerial experience with familiarization of newsletter and other publication processing.

    Job Knowledge:

  • Must be familiar with publishing layout and design features; standard English grammar and punctuation rules. Basic familiarity with local and national culture and practices of the host country as well as with the practices of the US Government.

    Education Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school required

    Evaluations:

    Language:

  • Fluent; speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate.

    Skills and Abilities :

  • Must be familiar with publishing layout and design features; standard English grammar and punctuation rules.

  • Basic familiarity with local and national culture and practices of the host country as well as with the practices of the US Government.

  • Keyboard/typing skills: must be efficient enough to produce a high-quality newsletter with 15 hours of work.

  • Accuracy and good editing for grammatical correctness and understandability is important.
