DutiesIncumbent acts as the lead for field oversight for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) South Africa office and is one of the key public health advisors on HIV Treatment under the direct supervision of the External Partnership Branch Chief of the HIV/AIDS Program.
Incumbent oversees the portfolio of activities being implemented in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province, and provides comprehensive public health technical, administrative and managerial advice and assistance in support of care and treatment activities provided under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements
Experience
Five years of mid-to-senior level public health experience in developing, implementing and evaluating HIV/AIDS treatment programs or other relevant public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency or implementing partner is required.
Education Requirements
Master's level degree in a health related studies (e.g. medicine, nursing, public health, behavioral science, psychology, social work, global health, health education, or human health degree) is required.
Evaluations
Language
Level IV (Fluent) reading/speaking/writing of English is required (this may be tested).
Skills and Abilities
Strong oral and written communications
skills, ingenuity, tact, innovation and influencing techniques.
Ability to analyze, understand and discuss new program design, management and implementation approaches.
Strong skills in the clinical management of HIV/AIDS & TB.
Ability to lead project teams and work groups and to develop effective working relationships with national and international working partners.

Agency Benefits
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in South Africa may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
