Duties

The position is located in the Financial Management Center, American Embassy Abuja and reports to the Financial Management Officer. The Class B Cashier is to provide cashiering services to the Mission community.

The cashier supports 13 sub-cashiers and is authorized to provide support to 28 ICASS agencies including USDHs, LES and TDYers utilizing USD and Naira. Cash advance is $135,000 USD.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

At least four (4) years of progressively responsible work in technical accounting or bookkeeping with at least two years performing cashiering work is required.

Job Knowledge:

Must possess good working knowledge of local banking practices and procedures.

Education Requirements:

University degree Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics is required.

Evaluations:

This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

Language:

Fluent writing/reading/speaking English is required.

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to articulate complex issues and recommend appropriate solutions, ability to effectively utilize computer and financial software, excellent customer service skills, ability to delegate effectively.

Keyboard and typing skills are required where accuracy is required but speed

is not important.

Numerical skills for calculations and confirming financial transactions is required.

Ability to use Microsoft outlook, word and excel and proprietary software is required.
