Duties

Serving as one of two staff members in the Travel, Visitors, and Conference Unit (TVU), the incumbent coordinates logistics, support, and direction for all conferences and trainings hosted in Johannesburg.

Also responsible for all necessary travel arrangements for DOS and other agencies assigned to the Consulate, as well as visiting Embassy personnel, official/TDY visitors, Front Office staff, and VIPs. S/he works under the direct supervision of the Travel and Training Coordinator.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience

Minimum of two years of experience in a Travel / Tourism / Conferencing / Hospitality environment is required.

Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of hospitality, conferencing, and events.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory:

Successful completion of secondary school is required.

Evaluations:

Language:

Fluent in English speaking/reading/writing. (This may be tested)

Good working knowledge in at least one additional official South African Language. (This may be tested)

Skills and Abilities:

Familiarity with MS Word and Excel is requited.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain extensive contacts.
