Duties

This position is under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Specialist; and receives guidance from American HR Officers.

The incumbent is responsible for full administration of the Locally Employed (LE) Staff recruitment portfolio including recruitment of When Actually Employed (WAEs) and fixed term contracts for the Embassy in Pretoria and constituent posts in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

The portfolio includes but is not limited to: drafting vacancy announcements, screening and shortlisting, pre-employment assessments, scheduling and conducting interviews, coordinating the selection of candidates, onboarding and orientation.

The incumbent is also responsible for processing promotions and transfers of employment between the agencies in the U.S. Mission South Africa.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

A minimum of three years’ experience in human resources administration, two of must be in recruitment is required

Education Requirements:

Two years university/college study is required

Evaluations:

Language:

Fluent in English speaking, reading and writing is required. (This may be tested)

Limited Knowledge in speaking, reading and writing in one other local South African

language is required. (This may be tested)

Skills and Abilities:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks rapidly with high level of accuracy.

Facilitating skills are required to conduct orientation effectively with small and large groups of diverse audiences.

Excellent computer skills are required to be able to use recruitment application.

Basic keyboard skill is required.

Basic numerical skill is required.

Ability to use USG software like WebPass, ILMS is required.
