Duties

The Welder performs full journeyman welder level maintenance and repair of existing metal building components and furnishings including but not limited to bending, welding, brazing, and fastening of vehicle and pedestrian gates, window/door screens, security grilles, fences, doors/frames, roof frames, handrails, guardrails, etc.

The position holder constructs all types of metal objects including but not limited to shelves/racks, doors, handrails, guardrails, security grills, secure containers, furniture, fences, roof trusses, and frames.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on working experience in welding and metalworks at the journeyman level is required.

  • Must have a valid local driving license class B.

    Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School; and trade school (one year) training certificate in welding/metalworking -related studies is required.

    Evaluations:

    Language:

  • Limited knowledge of English and Good working Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is required. (This may be tested).

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Skill test might be administered.
