Duties Under the supervision of Housing Coordinator, the Housing Clerk serves as the Housing subject matter expert and advisor on repairs and maintenance issues in all United States Government-provided housing.
The Housing Clerk serves as the Embassy point of contact with landlords, contractors, embassy technicians, and tenants to make sure that work is completed on time and in accordance with embassy residential standards.
The Housing Clerk also routes and tracks customer service requests in Department of State database, maintains real property application (RPA) database and residential issue databases.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Experience: A minimum four (4) years experience, including either 2 years or more of administrative experience or 2 years or more of real estate or real estate marketing.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school education or equivalent of U.S High School diploma is required.
Evaluations:
Language: Good working knowledge of English and Kinyarwanda is required. (This may be tested).
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of building maintenance procedures and safety rules is required. A general knowledge of local city real estate laws, regulations, and procedures as they relate to residential leasing and contracting is required.
