Basic Function of Position: The incumbent will serve as one of the Post’s primary nurses and will make use of the Office of Medical Services’ (MED) RN patient management protocols and standard nursing procedures in the medical care of Mission/ United States Government (USG) employees, eligible family members (EFM) and contractors.
The incumbent works collaboratively with other Health Unit personnel to provide outpatient nursing care and medical services at the Embassy Medical Unit to patients covered under the Department of State Medical Program plus Occupational Health coverage for local staff.
S/he stocks, inventories, and maintains all medical equipment, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals. The incumbent implements a comprehensive vaccination and wellness program and assists in delivering group and individual health education and medical emergency contingency planning.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Experience:
Two years of professional nursing experience is required.
Previous experience teaching at least three health promotions activities is required. i.e: HIV prevention, CPR, safe food services, healthy lifestyle, stress management and relaxation, emergency first aid, etc.
Job Knowledge:
The ability to administer adult and pediatric immunization program according to current CDC standards is required. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and a client-oriented disposition.
A good working knowledge or experience of current health promotion recommendations in the U.S. population is required.
Experience in management and procurement of expendable medical supplies and equipment for ambulatory care clinic.
Must be familiar with American Nursing standards of care. Must be able to perform basic word processing on the computer.
Education Requirements:
Graduate of
an accredited professional nursing school with a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license and fully credentialed/ licensed in the host country.

Level IV (Fluency – Speaking, reading and writing) in English is required.
Qualifications:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications and complete a mandatory probationary period for LE Staff.
