Basic Function of Position

Serves as Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) driver.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Transport American and Locally Employed Staff (LE Staff) on official business within and outside of Lilongwe. Meet and transport visitors as requested by the Director; Deputy Director and the Administrative Assistant. Deliver official Correspondence as required. 85%

Clean assigned official vehicles, perform routine checks on vehicles daily and maintain professional appearance of vehicle and self. Report vehicle problems to the Administrative Assistant for corrective action. 10%

Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Assistant and/or Deputy Director. 5%

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Experience:

Two years or prior work experience as a driver for a reputable business, government agency or diplomatic mission, or similar organization.

Job Knowledge:

Oral traffic laws and regulations, transportation routes in country, and basic automobile maintenance.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma

Chauffeur certificate

Drivers License

Defensive Driving Certificate

Evaluations:

Language:

Level II English, Level II Chichewa

Skills and Abilities:

Valid driver’s license required. Record of

safe driving is also require Some training in automotive maintenance desirable.
