U.S Embassy in Kenya Residential Escort Jobs
Duties Incumbent is assigned to the Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) Office to monitor and provide security escort to non-cleared workers/ vendors on an as-needed basis in designated areas as defined by the OBO Office.
Observes workers and contractors during the course of their work/duties to ensure that proper work is performed in accordance with security standards and to report suspected instances of violations to SSM.
Monitors contractor’s workers’ adherence to construction safety requirements and report noted violations to the point of contact (POC / OBO Safety Inspector in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Incumbent works under the direct supervision and guidance of the Site Security Manager (SSM).
Planning is limited to the assigned task and schedule availability.
Must communicate with POC in the area work regarding activities to take place to ensure compatibility for job performance.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Experience:
One (1) year general work experience.
Job Knowledge:
Basic computer literacy of common Windows applications to include the Microsoft Office suite.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required.
Evaluations:
Language:
English level III (Good working knowledge) Written/Speaking/Reading is required(This may be tested).
Level III Kiswahili is required.
Skills and Abilities:
Minimal record keeping such as time
sheets, escort records, and possible incident reports. Is responsible for security guideline enforcement in the course of escort duties and identify and notify POC /COR and APOSHO of construction safety violations.
Must be observant, flexible and service oriented. Duties include prolonged periods of standing/walking and somewhat physically demanding activities to include climbing, working in cramped spaces and at times working in inclement weather.
