Summary:The U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supervisory Telephone Operator. The work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week.

DutiesThe Supervisory Switchboard operator provides a wide range of administrative assistance to the IRM section in support of telephone services and IRM projects.
Incumbent is responsible to the IRM section for administrative management of IRM’s switchboard activities including but not limited to answering internal and external telephone calls, transfers calls, sends/receives faxes, sends/receives emails, issue cell and smart phones, manage cell phone subscription and support for IRM visitors. The Switchboard Supervisor has direct oversight of two full-time switchboard operators. He/She is an occasional cash holder.
Qualifications and EvaluationsRequirements:Experience:
Two years of work experience as Telephone Operator in a large organization or a governmental agency is required. One year of experience as a supervisor, team leader or Manager
Job Knowledge Incumbent must have good working knowledge of telephone switchboard operations. Knowledge of standard office practices and personnel management is required.
Good working skills in operating word processing and/or computer terminal equipment for producing printed matter and inputting/retrieving
information is required.
Education Requirements:
Completion of two years of post-Secondary School is required

Fluent English (Reading, Speaking and Writing) is required. Good working knowledge of Twi and any local language is required. (Language proficiency may be tested)
Skills and Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritize and work under pressure. Must have supervisory skills.
Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must be conversant with clerical procedures; and have knowledge of computers and relevant software applications (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Internet/Intranet); and knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Incumbent must possess the ability to type at least 25 wpm. (Computer Skills may be tested)
