U.S. Embassy in Ghana Janitor Jobs

Duties

Under the direction of the janitorial team lead, janitors are responsible for performing janitorial duties for all Chancery compound buildings and related areas to ensure the buildings interiors and exteriors are in a clean and orderly condition at all times. This service extend to other United States Government (USG) owned or leased as instructed.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of one year work experience as Janitor in a large office complex is required.

Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.

Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers (indoor plants), and pesticides. Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions.

Education Requirements:

Completion of primary School is required.

Evaluations:

Language: Good working knowledge in English speaking, reading and writing is required. (Language Proficiency will be tested).

Skills and Abilities

Must be reliable problem solvers, have good time management skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Due to the requirement to interact with staff and in the course of performing duties, must possess good communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Must be able to carry out heavy cleansings tasks and be able to manually lift heavy objects.
