Summary
The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Painter (Team Lead).
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (44 hours per week)
Start Date
Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/ certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The incumbent provides supervisory coordination services and serves as painting foreman on the construction, repair, and maintenance of Embassy facilities.
Evaluates contractor and Government employee work by visiting job sites on a daily basis to determine acceptability.
Develops painting schedules for work crews, amount of materials and equipment required and bills of quantity.
Writes daily work orders to generate work for painting crews and produces inspection reports of work completed.

Experience
Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a professional painter is required.
A minimum of 1 year work experience in a supervisory position with a maintenance/ construction or building trades group is required.

Language: English Level 2 speaking/ reading/ writing.
Amharic Level 3 speaking/reading/writing. (This may be tested)
Skills and Abilities
Must be able to use all tools and equipment of the painting trade.
Must be able to work un-supervised and inspect subcontractor’s work for compliance.
He/she must be able to lift 40 kilos, work off a ladder at heights over three meters.
Must have good customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Possess minimum of class II driving license. (This may be tested).

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

Important
