Summary:
  • The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Gardener.

    Duties:
  • Assigned to Facilities Maintenance section responsible for grounds maintenance and performing other semi-skilled domestic works as assigned.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Experience:
  • Completion of elementary (primary) school is required.

    Requirements:

    Experience:
  • Two years gardening experience is required.

    Job Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of how to plant (silviculture) and care for plants and flowers (floriculture) are required.

    Language:
  • Level I English (Limited) ability is required.

    Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform basic tasks, manual duties, and proper handling and use of basic hand tools/ equipment and planting materials. Must hold valid Ugandan driver’s license.

    Qualifications:
  • All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
