U.S. Embassy & Consulates in South Africa Newsletter Editor Jobs

Duties

Incumbent is responsible for producing the Consulate General's newsletter providing information about the community, the host country and activities of interest to all members of the Consulate General community.

The position reports directly to the Management Officer (MO) but receives daily supervision from the Community Liaison Office (CLO) Coordinator.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of office or managerial experience with familiarization of newsletter and other publication processing.

Job Knowledge: Must be familiar with publishing layout and design features; standard English grammar and punctuation rules. Basic familiarity with local and national culture and practices of the host country as well as with the practices of the US Government.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school required.

Evaluations:

Language: Mandatory: English written and spoken at Level 4. (Applicants may be asked to submit writing samples.)

Skills and Abilities:

Must be familiar with publishing layout and design features; standard English grammar and punctuation rules.

Basic familiarity with local and national culture and practices of the host country as well as with the practices of the US Government.
