Overview:
URC is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor for WASH Implementation Science for the upcoming USAID-funded global project, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Research and Learning. The five-year project will address
key global and country specific WASH issues through a consortium that leads collaborative implementation science research, specialized technical assistance to country programs, and supports the use of evidence for decision making.
The Senior Technical Advisor will provide technical leadership to the design, implementation and partner support associated with the implementation research and learning portfolio of activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead development and oversight of the implementation research agenda with consortium partners, USAID, and stakeholders.
Support Project Director in developing and implementing overall project strategy and workplan toward achieving project objectives.
Oversee the consortium’s study development and implementation in accordance with the project strategy and objectives.
Lead the technical assistance deployment process in response to USAID and stakeholder requests.
Support the Project Director in ensuring activities are performed to a high professional standard, effectively implemented, and fulfill donor and URC requirements.
Oversee mechanisms that ensure technical rigor and excellence and enhance capacity development among partners.
Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts that ensure effective implementation of the evidence translation and dissemination strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Dr.PH) in health, environmental health, engineering, implementation science, or a relevant field.
Previous experience as Senior Technical Director, Senior Advisor or Principal Investigator for a large and complex global research activity.
At least seven years of professional experience supporting implementation science and research, program management for USG or other donor-funded projects with complex consortia.
At least ten years of experience implementing programs or researching technical areas, such as: on-site sanitation services and hygiene, sustainable rural water resources and services. urban WASH services and policy environment, WASH sector finance.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
English fluency required; secondary language fluency desired.
