Background
USAID RHITES NORTH ACHOLI Activity is funded by United States Agency for International Development implemented and managed by University Research CO., LLC. The Activity provides technical support and assistance to the Ministry of Health and USG implementing partners to institutionalize the Quality Improvement approach with a goal of improving health outcomes for the served populations.
Job summary:
The job holder will work closely with the project QI advisor, and partner QI advisors in the set-up, testing and implementation of QI initiatives. They will be responsible for facilitating synthesis and documentation of innovations and supporting teams to implement interventions with fidelity.
Roles and responsibilities
Develop and implement QI work plans to address priority quality gaps and provide a strategy for national level scale up.
Develop, test and support the roll out of QI tools through the Ministry of Health structures.
Build the capacity of the IPs, regional, district QI teams to use the QI approach to
improve the quality of care.
Coordinate and liaise with the relevant Ministry of Health departments to implement QI interventions for the MoH priority areas.
Evaluate and modify QI strategies in line with the project work plan.
Facilitate peer-to-peer learning sessions, synthesize and document emerging changes.
Document best practices in form of case studies, success stories, abstracts, video clips in addition to the routine monthly updates, quarterly and annual reports.
Guide and facilitate the use of data to improve process and outcome indicators of interest,
In collaboration with the M&E team, review and manage data from the health facility/community teams and provide just in-time feedback to maintain valid and up-to-date data in the QI database.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications, Experience and Competences
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Medicine, Nursing, Public health, or related field.
A minimum of 4 years work experience implementing QI approaches.
Demonstratable experience supporting multiple health facilities to implement QI.
Knowledge and experience of public health systems in Uganda.
Excellent mentorship and facilitation skills with experience in conducting trainings.
Ability to collect, analyze, evaluate, and visualize (quantitative and qualitative) data.
Experience working with PEPFAR supported HIV care and treatment programs is desirable.
Familiar with basic communication technology to manage virtual meetings.
Adequate working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel minimum).
Good written and oral communication skills and people skills.
