The suitably qualified, experienced, and proficient individuals are invited to apply for the above-mentioned position. The potential incumbents will form part of the Department of Education Studies, within the School of Education in the Faculty of Humanities. Interested applicants must meet the following requirements.
Positions: Lecturers for Teaching Practice in Foundation Phase Teaching (Posts 2):
Minimum Requirements:Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must have a Master’s degree in Curriculum Development or the relevant Master degree in Foundation Phase Teaching or Education.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience particularly in Foundation
Phase/Primary School.
Experience teaching in higher education will be an addeded advantage.
Knowledge and understanding of Foundation Phase Teaching Practice.
Experience in curriculum and materials development in Teaching Practice.
Experience of online teaching and learning environments will be an advantage.
Competence in communicating knowledge and facilitating teaching and learning.
Ability and willingness to participate in community engagement projects.
Sound interpersonal skills, including a commitment to collegiality and equal opportunity.
Demonstrated ability to undertake administrative responsibilities at departmental or institutional levels.
Must have a valid driver’s licence.
Core Functions
Participate in school-based Foundation Phase Teaching Practice assessment
Implement Foundation Phase Teaching Practice curriculum.
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Compile teaching, learning and assessment materials.
Supervise academic research projects/reports
Undertake teaching, research and administrative duties in the department.
Implement departmental operational plans to achieve strategic objectives.
Engage in integrated learning, practice teaching and community service
Initiate and develop course materials
Must be ready to prepare and deliver lectures and seminars

Initiate honours programme for the Foundation Phase
Must be able to teach
social sciences in Foundation Phase coupled with remedial skills for learners with dyscalculia or dyslexia.
Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars.
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students
Participate in Teaching Practice for the Foundation Phase Programme.
Specialised knowledge in Literacy teaching in the Foundation Phase.
Must have a driver’s licence.

At least three (3) years of teaching experience particularly in Foundation Phase/Primary School.

Knowledge and understanding of teaching Sepedi in Foundation Phase.
Experience in curriculum and materials development for Sepedi in Foundation Phase.
Experience of online teaching and learning environments will be an advantage.
Competence in communicating knowledge and facilitating teaching and learning.
Ability and willingness to participate in community engagement projects.
Sound interpersonal skills, including a commitment to collegiality and equal opportunity.
Demonstrated ability to undertake administrative responsibilities at departmental or institutional levels.
Must have a valid driver’s licence.
