Responsibilities
Teach and assess courses in one’s discipline at both undergraduate and
postgraduate level
Supervise undergraduate projects and other experimental learning programs
Supervise dissertations/theses at the graduate level for those with PhD
Participate in the development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses
Initiate, promote and participate in research projects
Provide professional and community services and initiate linkages and
fundraising
Carry out administrative and other duties & responsibilities as may be assigned
Qualifications
Doctorate Degree from a recognized and reputable institution in their relevant
areas of specialty
Have a masters degree in addition to first degree from a recognized University in their
relevant areas of specialty
Have at least three (3)years of full time teaching experience at University level after
obtaining masters.
Have at least 24 publication points of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed
journal papers.
Show evidence of affiliation to at least 1 professional body and candidature
Show evidence of PhD candidature.

University of Eldoret Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and finance}Jobs in Kenya
Administrative Positions
Responsibilities
To head the Administrative and Finance division of the University and ensure effective
accountability to the Vice-Chancellor for proper management and implementation of
activities in the division;
Coordinate the formulation of the University policies procedures and systems that will
ensure control and accountability;
Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the departments within the division;
Responsible for the performance, evaluation and appraisal of staff in the University;
Undertake specific performance contract and strategic planning in the division;
Monitor and evaluate utilization resources of the University;
Plan, organize and coordinate human resource activities of the University;
Develop systems and procedures to attract, develop and retain qualified and
experienced staff.
Direct, organize and administer activities within administration and finance division;
Develop and oversee the implementation of Procurement, Finance, Human
Oversee proper implementation of staff welfare matters and pension scheme;
Secretary to the University Management Board;
Coordinate the preparation of Financial statements, Budget, Management
Reports and analysis for the Vice-Chancellor’s presentation of the University
Management Board and Council for decision making;
Negotiating performances
targets and signing of annual Performance Contact with the
Vice-Chancellor;
Co-ordinate the preparations of the University annual budget;
Co-ordinate the preparations of the University annual Procurement plan;
Co-ordinate the preparations and implementation of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality
Management System;
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor or her designate
from time to time.
Qualifications
Be a Professor or Associate Professor from a recognized University with an
earned PhD;
Have at least 10 years of experience in Senior Management positions;
Should have published extensively in refereed journals;
Should have evidence of participation and contribution in seminars/conferences;
Have a good understanding of University functions and procedures and capacity
to counsel, motivate and manage administrative staff and all stakeholders of the
University.
Demonstrate competence in academic and administrative leadership in an academic environment
Demonstrate evidence of outstanding ability to communicate effectively and have good interpersonal skills;
Have a good understanding of the national policies and strategies governing planning and research in Kenya;
Membership registration to relevant professional bodies;
Professional qualifications in management, strategic planning and finance

Responsibilities
Heading the Planning, Research and extension division and ensuring effective

In-charge of the development, direction, organization and administration of physical development projects in the University.
Coordinate the design, implementation, revision and evaluation of the University’s strategic plan;
Developing and implementing the physical plans as per the University strategic plan;
Ensuring that all the activities in the University Master plan and the PerformanceContract are effected and implemented;
Qualifications
Be a Professor or Associate Professor from a recognized University with anearned PhD;
