Brief Description of WFP in Uganda WFP delivers food assistance in emergencies and work with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.
WFP provides life-saving food assistance and livelihood opportunities to refugees in Uganda. In addition, WFP assists the most vulnerable people in Karamoja with food and nutrition assistance.
Finally, WFP works with smallholder farmers and links them to markets.
As Uganda strives to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030 and become a middle-income country by 2040, WFP is also assessing its relevance and repositioning its role in Uganda.
Standard Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or any related field.
Experience with the application of client services to resolve or escalate end-user problems
Five (5) years’ experience working with corporate systems and troubleshooting.
Previous knowledge of SCOPE is an asset.
Proficiency in oral and written English language
Knowledge and experience of the area context,
Knowledge of one of Karamoja Local Languages is a MUST.
Organisational Context
These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureaux (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ). The Job holders report to a Head of the Unit, Chief or IT Solutions Developer.
At this level job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis.
Job Purpose
To provide IT Associate to provide technical support on the development, maintenance, testing and implementation of a portion of IT solutions for KSR/CODA in line with business requirements
Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)
Keep up-to-date technical systems documentation for developed IT solutions in order to support systems maintenance.
Perform unit and integrated testing of new, enhanced or fixed code in order to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications.
Assist in the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems ensuring compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
Communicate any new guidance for corporate systems with the ICT in the FOs.
Assist in the release of IT systems and provide early life support in order to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution.
Resolve users queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered and accurate information is provided.
Assist in the preparation of materials and the delivery of trainings on automated business processes to ensure efficient and effective use of IT systems.
Collect and collate data, conduct basic analysis to support the development of accurate reports using Tablue and Microsoft systems.
Maintain an accurate KSR assets & equipment (Inventory) in accordance with WFP standard operational procedures and regulations.
Develop SOPs and guidelines related to ICT processes as needed.
