United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) Officer Jobs
The Consultant will work under the overall oversight of the Chief of the Protection, Transition and Reintegration Section. The technical and logistical support will be provided by the QIPs Management Team (QMT) and the QMT Team Leader will provide day to day supervision and support.


Duties and Responsibilities


i. Contribution to promoting acceptance of the mandated tasks as well as building confidence and credibility of the mission amongst the population.

ii. Contribution to building confidence and/or building support for the peace process, including through demonstrating early peace dividends to the population.

iii. Contribution to improving the environment for mandate implementation by generating support for the mission including through addressing the immediate needs of the population.


Qualifications or special skills

*Minimum of an advanced university degree (Masters’ degree or equivalent) in political sciences, social sciences, development studies, public administration, project management, and conflict resolution is required.

*At least 10 years of experience conducting external multi-stakeholder evaluations of small-scale projects in the region using approaches including utilization-focused, gender and human rights responsive and mixed methods is required Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated strong writing skills required Extensive field experience, especially in project management in conflict and/or post-conflict settings in East Africa desirable. Knowledge of programming related to peace, humanitarian and stabilization and development programming in post conflict settings is desirable.


Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations secretariat. For this post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
