United Nations Human Settlements Programme Human Resource Intern Jobs in Kenya; The position is in the Office of Human Resources and Training Unit (HRTU), Management Advisory and Compliance Service (MACS) in Nairobi Kenya. The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week under the supervision of a staff member in the office of HRTU to which they are assigned. Under the direct supervision of the staff member in HRTU, the Intern will assist the office in the matter of Human Resource management, administrative work and etc.
Responsibilities •Follow up on actions related to the administration of the human resource activities, e.g., recruitment, relocation, , performance management, job classification, separation, etc., ensuring consistency in the application of regulations and procedures.
•Perform a wide range of office support and administrative functions.
•Responds or drafts responses to routine correspondence and other communications; uses standard word processing package to produce a wide variety of large, complex documents and reports.
•Generates a variety of standard statistical and other reports, work orders, etc., using various databases.
•Proofreads documents and edits texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style, and for adherence to established standards for format.
•Assists in the maintenance of the shared drive and maintain accurate filing of all recruitments and related documents.
•Monitors and updates the recruitment matrix and follows-up on impending actions. •Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university
degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent),
c. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); Have graduated with a university degree in Business Administration or HR Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of other UN Language is desirable
