The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General.
We support programme implementation of the
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UNHABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing Administrative, conference, Security and information services
The UNON Central Support Services internship is for 6 months.
The Internship is unpaid and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
Will be involved in real ongoing projects that the Section is currently working on.
Depending on the phase of the project, the intern may be assigned research, analysis, design, development, testing, training, user support, or outreaching work.

Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum
Bachelor's level or equivalent).
Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Preferred Area(s) of Studies:
Applicants must be pursuing qualifications in area of study that can significantly contribute to the work of the Enterprise Solutions Section and responsibilities outlined.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
For this internship, fluency in oral and written English is required.
Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.
