DutiesHydrodynamic modelling, including numerical modelling and analyses of waves (including infra-gravity waves)
Wave penetration and harbour resonance studies.
Moored ship motions studies and downtime assessment
Entrance channel depth assessment and design
Ship manoeuvring simulations studies to aid design of navigation channels, aids to navigation and tug requirements and operational requirements
Environmental data analyses
Undertake far-field and near-field dilution and dispersion modelling studies
Assist in preparation of proposals for projects related to these fields
Compile reports on numerical modelling tasks
Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you
Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm
Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times
Experience Required
Post-graduate qualification in Applied Mathematics, Coastal/Port Engineering, or related field
2 – 6 years’ relevant post graduate work experience
Knowledge and experience in applying port and coastal modelling software packages (Required):
Delft3D (WAVE; FLOW; and SURFBEAT)
XBeach (including non-hydrostatic module)
Mike21 BW (knowlage of Mike21 MA would be beneficial)
Simflex Navigator
Knowledge and experience in modelling and analyses ship hydrodynamics, ship stability, dynamic mooring and downtime analyses
Proficient in programming with MATLAB / PYTHON
Solid mathematical background, also a good judgment on matters and assumptions within the field of modelling
Knowledge and experience in physical modelling of wave processes would be advantageous
