UNICEF National Consultant - Programme Assistant for AU End Child Marriage Campaign Jobs in Ethiopia
Purpose The Programme Assistant will support the Child Marriage Campaign Manager providing administrative support to the Department for Social Affairs and the AU Special Rapporteur and AU Goodwill Ambassador for the effective management of the Campaign.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Assistant will carry out the following tasks:
Provide logistic and administrative support for the implementation of activities in support of the Campaign.
Maintain database of Member State focal points, individuals, networks and organizations that work on child marriage and women and children’s rights.
Assist in preparation of all documentation- concept notes, reports, agendas, letters etc. for the Campaign including reviewing of technical documents
Consult and follow up with countries focal persons where launches and post launch visits will be held and coordinate arrangements on the ground.
Assist in organizing the continental and regional advocacy events and capacity building trainings related to the Campaign.
Assist to review, draft and edit technical and administrative reports on the Campaign.
Assist in organizing Campaign capacity building trainings and follow up on training outcomes.
Provide administrative support to the AU Goodwill Ambassador and Special Rapporteur, especially during strategic policy meetings and missions.

required
Expected Deliverables
List of updated focal persons from MS Governments and Civil Society
Links established with other AU Organs-ACERWC, PAP, ACHPR
Timely preparation of documents and logistics for advocacy and other Campaign events;
Quality and timely review of administrative notes for the Program Manager
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
An Bachelors university degree (Master’s or higher) in Business Administration, Management, Social Development, Human Rights and Development, or other related discipline;
A minimum of 3 Three years of relevant professional experience in AU, related government ministry on Gender or Child issues, UN, or NGO is highly recommended;
Previous experience in handling reporting and managing and administrative duties is an added value;
Experience working in Africa and good knowledge of the African Union and its regional and related, national, regional and continental mechanisms.
Experience working in a fast-paced International Organization is highly desirable;
Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
