UNICEF Consultancy - Development of Proposal for EU Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

Enhance the capacity of child protection systems to include services in reception centers and other care facilities.

Ensure that child protection systems have gender responsive psychosocial services and prevention mechanisms addressing gender-based violence and other structural problems.

Ensure that child protection systems provide alternative care options, with emphasis on community-based and family-based alternatives to detention of children.

Develop exchanges of good practice and lessons learned across the two regions/ four countries, to serve as evidence for the protection of children on the move in different contexts, based on empirical evidence and data.

Requirements

Advanced university degree (Masters or PhD) in applied social sciences, or international development or any other related field

Minimum 10 years of experience in research and proposal development for major public sector donors, with a geographical focus on Latin America and Africa

Demonstrated knowledge of EU

development policy and funding around child protection and migration

Excellent analytical and proposal writing skills in English and Spanish – candidate should provide evidence from previous assignment deliverable

Ability to work efficiently and effectively with project members/partners in various locations and from multiple organizations.

Ability to integrate different experiences, methodologies, and approaches from a diverse range of stakeholders, organizations, and technical experts from multiple sectors.

Flexibility to adapt to any subsequent changes in the terms of reference based on feedback from technical colleagues or the European Commission

Fluency in English and Spanish is required
