Project Description

One of the key benchmarks of the Revitalized Agreement for the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) signed in 2018 is the conduct of elections. These elections will be South Sudan’s first elections as a sovereign state.

UN electoral assistance in South Sudan is led by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in collaboration with UNDP and other UN agencies. An integrated electoral assistance team has been established and within this integrated structure UNDP has set up the South Sudan Electoral Support Project.
