UNDP Driver/Clerk - Kaduna, Katsina, Anambra, and Sokoto Jobs in Nigeria

Scope of Work

Under the direct supervision of the Field Specialist, and the overall supervision of the Conflict & Political Economy Specialist, the Driver will be responsible for the following functions and tasks:

Summary of Key Functions:

Provision of reliable and secure driving services

Proper use of vehicle

Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle

Availability of documents/ supplies Specific Functions/Results expected:

Provision of reliable and secure driving services

Driving office vehicles for the transport of UNDP RR, other high-ranking officials, visitors and other authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.

Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.

Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents

Proper use of vehicle focusing on the following:

Ensures cost-savings throughproper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.

Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle focusing on the following:

Through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.

Availability of documents/ supplies focusing on the following:

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Minimum Secondary Education. Valid Driver’s license.

Experience:

03 years’ work experience as a driver in an international organization, or UN system with a safe driving record.

Knowledge of driving rules.

Experience driving 4x4 vehicles in rough terrain.

Experience driving high profile dignitaries is an added advantage.

Language Requirement:

Proficiency in English as the UN language of the duty station.
