Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Associate, the incumbents will be responsible for monitoring WFP programmes in Isingiro, Rwenzori and Bunyoro Satellite offices
Key Accountabilities
Coordinate and monitor the implementation of WFP programmes at the Settlement and District level, in close collaboration with the Cooperating partners, the local government and other UN agencies
Monitor and review the overall commodity movements such as food deliveries, storage, transport and distribution at the site and verify if the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged
Supervise the efficient distribution of food and cash at the site and ensure proper distribution of entitlements and verify appropriate entitlements are distributed and provide feedback to the Team Leader and others on the distribution;
Conduct regular monthly review meetings with cooperating partners on the distribution arrangements, food and cash entitlements and other relevant issues
Assist in the implementation of the plan of action, review achievement and constraints and provide feedback to the Satellite Office Team Leader, or other senior staff.
Conduct cash and food basket monitoring, post distribution community meetings to ensure feedback on the WFP GFA interventions in the settlement.
Report periodically to the Team leader or Programme Associate on
relevant events regarding food and cash management, distribution and other related issues
Identify any issues in the programme and report them to the Team Leader/Programme Associate.
Any further duties as assigned by the field office leadership
Standard Minimum Qualifications
Qualification, Experience and Languages required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Nutrition, Agriculture or any other related field obtained from a recognized Institution.
At least four (4) year’s relevant work experience in Agriculture, and Nutrition programmes gained from a reputable organization;
Experience in project planning and management, managing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing programme related projects, Knowledge and experience in quantitative and qualitative research.
Language:
Fluency in local language used in South Western Uganda.
Fluency in written and spoken English. Good knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage.
Desired Experiences for Entry into the Role
Has experience collecting programme output and outcome data, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and reporting findings to management team, partners and other stakeholders.
Has experience utilizing WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.
