Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)Carrying out system and hardware routine maintenance tasks such as running specialized network monitoring and system protection routines, server management, patch management, and malware control to ensure technology is running effectively.
Assisting in the management, operation, and maintenance of the Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless LAN (WLAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems.
Maintaining technology, including standard repairs, configuration, and storage per data security and access controls to ensure IT equipment required for WFP staff is available.
Managing the IT Service Desk, including allocating
tasks for troubleshooting while ensuring that solutions are delivered within the agreed standards and deadlines.
With guidance from senior colleagues, providing training to end users to ensure that staff use corporate standard technology and systems effectively.
Managing IT hardware and software inventories, including documenting all equipment loans whether to staff, other WFP Offices, or cooperating partners.
Providing audio-visual support during meetings, training sessions, and workshops that take place in the Conference Room and at the Bangula UNHAS.
Ensuring that all Southern Region-based staff are on all appropriate mailing lists.
Writing code for specialized applications as per submitted designs.
Assisting in Carrying out quarterly maintenance routines on all equipment assigned to all staff or installed in all the WFP offices in the Southern Region.
Carrying out other related tasks as assigned from time to time.
Desired Experiences For Entry Into The Role
Has experience resolving more complex technical issues.
Has worked with head of units in defining requirements for functional area.
Has experience with the application of client services standards to resolve or escalate clients’ service problems.
Standard Minimum Qualifications
Education : Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in Software Engineering related functional area is desirable.
Language : Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and other local languages.
